May's Premier Pitcher Announced by NBL Wednesday, June 1st , 1977 Scott Dubyak hated to see May turn to June. And who could blame him? The 32-year-old hurler piled up 6 wins and no losses for the Packers last month and won the National Baseball League Pitcher of the Month award for his efforts. Dubyak stymied opposing batters on 43 base hits and a .208 batting average. He rang up 26 strikeouts in 58.2 innings of work, surrendered 23 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.15 ERA. This year, Dubyak has posted a 8-2 mark in 12 starts and has a 3.32 ERA. |
