Chicago Loses Ernie Ronnebaum Saturday, June 25th , 1977 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Ernie Ronnebaum of the Hawks knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Los Angeles Pobladores while running the bases. Because of a strained calf muscle, the Chicago left fielder is expected to miss 4 weeks. Ronnebaum was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." So far this year, Ronnebaum has hit .262 with 9 home runs, 32 RBIs and 33 runs scored. |
