Balliet Nabs ABL Weekly Award Monday, June 3rd , 1974 When it came to hitting the baseball, John Balliet was in a class by himself in the American Baseball League this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding third baseman for Baltimore tagged opposing pitchers for a .423 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 11 hits in 26 at-bats, 2 homers, 6 runs scored and 2 RBIs. For the season, Balliet has produced 56 hits in 195 at-bats for a .287 average with 7 home runs and gotten on base at a .346 clip. |
