Cleveland Starting Pitcher June's Best Rookie
Saturday, July 1st , 1972
Throwing with confidence is the hardest thing for a rookie to pull off, but thanks to Cleveland's pitching coaches, Floyd Tucker has been able to gain confidence in surprisingly little time. The 23-year-old is new to the National Baseball League, but that didn't prevent him from putting up numbers good enough to win the Rookie of the Month in June.
In 5 starts he notched 2 wins and 2 losses, 18 strikeouts in 39 innings and registered an impressive 2.77 ERA last month.
This season, Tucker has compiled a 3-5 mark with a 4.22 ERA in 13 starts.
