Atlanta Beats Boston as Combs Throws 9-0 Shutout

Frank Combs spun his magic in a shutout victory at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, 9-0, over the Boston Terriers. The Atlanta pitcher put quite a spell on Boston in a strong performance, allowing 4 hits while totaling no walks and 4 strikeouts.
"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Combs said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."
Combs has made 19 starts so far this year and put up a 9-4 won-lost record with a 1.77 ERA. In 147.1 innings he has allowed 101 hits, walked 33 and struck out 120.
