Atlanta Beats Boston as Combs Throws 9-0 Shutout Thursday, July 6th , 1972 Frank Combs spun his magic in a shutout victory at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, 9-0, over the Boston Terriers. The Atlanta pitcher put quite a spell on Boston in a strong performance, allowing 4 hits while totaling no walks and 4 strikeouts. "I had a lot of good things working in this one," Combs said.
