Bob Boyd Injured, Out for Year

Philadelphia catcher Bob Boyd suffered a season-ending injury running the bases in today's game against the Industrials. According to club doctors Boyd has a ruptured ligament in his knee. Although Boyd has declined to comment, sources close to the player have stated that he is "devastated" that he will miss the playoffs.
Thus far this season, Boyd is hitting .262 with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 107 at-bats and has played in 34 games.
