New York's Baker to Miss Season
Wednesday, July 26th , 1972
The season is apparently over for Wayne Baker. The New York Knickerbockers medical staff informed the club that the right fielder will be out at least 5 months with a torn meniscus. Baker was hurt in the game against Cincinnati while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
To date Baker has chalked up a .265 average with 1 home run, driven in 41 runs and scored 42 times.
