Week's Best Player Honored by NBL Monday, July 8th , 1974 When it came to hitting the baseball, Randy Barnes had few peers in the National Baseball League this past week. The talented left fielder for San Diego tagged opposing pitchers for a .483 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 2 homers, 4 runs scored and 11 RBIs. In 86 games this season, Barnes has compiled a .361 batting average with 116 hits and 21 home runs. He has also scored 68 times and knocked in 73 runs. |
