Generals, Combs Silence Baltimore, 4-0
Friday, July 12th , 1974
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Baltimore Lords as starter Frank Combs shut them out, 4-0, at Seton Hill Stadium. The Atlanta pitcher struck out 2 and walked 2 while allowing 3 hits.
"Combs was good but he wasn't flawless," Baltimore manager Steve Read said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Atlanta, but this is on us."
This season, Combs has compiled a 5-8 mark with a 4.25 ERA in 19 starts.
