Los Angeles, Boston Execute Trade Monday, July 31st , 1972 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Pobladores announced today the acquisition of 34-year old RHP Vern Gould from the Boston Terriers in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick and a 4th round draft pick. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Pobladores, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Checking out his stats for the year, Gould has racked up 7 wins and 8 losses in 22 starts, posted a 2.25 ERA, and struck out 79 batters in 164 innings. |
