Pittsburgh Starter Named NBL's Premier Pitcher Tuesday, October 1st , 1968 The Pitcher of the Month Award has been announced and the National Baseball League winner is Pittsburgh hurler, Roger Long. For his fine efforts in September he has been named the league's #1 pitcher. During the month, Long excelled with a 1.87 ERA and 5 wins and no losses. In 43.1 innings he struck out 32 and gave up 28 hits and 13 walks. In 33 starts this season Long has recorded a 17-7 record and a 2.36 ERA. |
