Cincinnati Ships Davalos to Twin Cities
Monday, July 31st , 1972
The Cincinnati Packers and Twin Cities Northmen have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Cincinnati will part with 26-year old 3B David Davalos and 26-year old RHP Brian Williams, while the Northmen have dealt a 1st round draft pick and a 3rd round draft pick.
"This one took a while to figure out," said Cincinnati general manager Martin Abresch. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."
So far this year, Davalos is batting .265 with 10 home runs.
