Church Hurls Burros to Shutout Victory
Sunday, August 16th , 1970
The Milwaukee Dairymen ran into a buzzsaw at Gates Crescent Park, as Denver Burros starter Dave Church cut them down to size, 6-0, tossing a 3-hit shutout.

"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Burros manager Clark Anderson told reporters after the game. "Dave knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."

In the complete game win, the Denver hurler doled out 2 walks and registered 6 strikeouts.

This season in 19 starts, Dave Church has a record of 10-8 with 92 strikeouts in 146.2 innings and a 3.31 ERA.
