Timmons Sensational, 5-for-5
Sunday, August 6th , 1972
Stan Timmons was smoking all game at the plate, but couldn't finish his day with a victory cigar.

After the 27-year-old Cincinnati Packers left fielder tallied 5 hits in 5 at-bats, he was forced to watch as his club dropped the 10-9 decision to the New York Knickerbockers.

"That was no fun," Timmons said to reporters after the game. "You hate to lose any game but it's even worse somehow to feel like you did enough to win."

Stan Timmons singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

At the moment, Timmons is batting .283 with 7 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 102 games and scored 54 times.
