Shingleton Homers 3 Times Against San Francisco

Buddy Shingleton went on an explosive hitting spree against the San Francisco Seagulls at Twin Cities Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the Twin Cities Northmen win, 9-6.
The shortstop finished 4-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 4 runs batted in.
"It was just one of those days," Shingleton said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
San Francisco skipper Al Borie said Shingleton was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Buddy Shingleton hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Trent in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Trent in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Chuck Pellegrino in the 7th.
So far in 1972 Shingleton is batting .265 with 18 home runs, 64 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 112 hits in 423 at-bats and a .350 OBP.
