Jim Meier Enters Hall Of Fame
Monday, January 31st , 1972
The hallowed halls of baseball have been enlarged. Today a great pitcher was added to its list of legends as perennial all-star Jim Meier was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was famous for his quirky motion. Meier baffled hitters with a rocking, twisting windup and an assortment of release points that ranged from over the top to nearly underhand. Many batters said, "He threw everything at me but the ball."

Meier posted a lifetime 270-167 record with a 3.20 ERA and whiffed 1962 batters in 4044 innings. He retired at age 37.
