New York Out of Playoff Race Thursday, September 16th , 1976 Fans of the New York Knickerbockers who thought the club was playoff-bound may have been a little too optimistic this year. The team was officially eliminated from postseason contention today. New York last appeared in the postseason in 1973. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 67 times in their 101-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Knickerbockers have missed the playoffs 6 times. New York has won the World Series 17 times in their history. |
