National Baseball League Western Division Champs Crowned: Denver Burros Saturday, September 18th , 1976 The Denver Burros stood out amongst the competition in the National Baseball League Western Division this season and can now lay claim to having officially clinched the division title. It is the 5th time the club has won its division and they will be vying for the 2nd World Series in franchise history. "Proud of everyone in the room," is how reliever Frank Combs described his feeling after the clinch. "We're number one now, but we need to make sure it stays that way when the playoffs are said and done." |
