Brookins Takes NBL's Best Bat Award Tuesday, July 1st , 1975 When Jim Brookins stepped up to the plate in June he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the National Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The young Los Angeles right fielder posted a .348 batting average with 9 home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 26 runs. Brookins also worked pitchers for 10 walks to post a .411 on-base percentage. Brookins is currently batting .313 with 15 home runs, 45 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 300 at-bats. |
