ABL's #1 Batter Announced Tuesday, July 1st , 1975 Don Johnson received the American Baseball League Batter of the Month trophy earlier today for his efforts at the plate this last month. "He might be getting older," San Francisco's manager told reporters, "But he's been around long enough to know what it takes to put a stretch such as this together... and he doesn't keep that to himself. He's always talking to the younger guys in the clubhouse helping 'em any way they'll let him. Don's value to our team goes farther than the numbers he puts up on the field." To win the honor Johnson put up a .358 batting average, 1 home run, 15 RBIs and scored 28 times in June. Johnson is currently batting .366 with 3 home runs, 66 runs scored and 41 RBIs. His OBP is .471. |
