NBL's Premier Batter Picked Monday, August 1st , 1977 Jim Brookins, the Los Angeles right fielder, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .427 batting average with 41 hits, 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 25 times. That kind of hitting earned him the National Baseball League Batter of the Month honors for July. Brookins is hitting .381 in 1977 with 93 RBIs and 35 home runs. |
