Chicago Loses Fran Precourt, Will Miss Season Saturday, July 21st , 1973 The Chicago Traders and their fans were rocked today by the news that star center fielder Fran Precourt would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Precourt was hurt in a recent game against the Kansas City Bulls while running the bases. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a ruptured achilles tendon. His doctors think that Precourt will miss about 6 months. Currently Precourt is hitting .280 and has collected 4 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 53 times, while playing in 95 games. |
