Setback for Wolverines and Emil Wathen Saturday, August 16th , 1975 Wolverines third baseman Emil Wathen has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation for a strained muscle in his back. He was expected to finish treatment soon and rejoin the team slightly ahead of schedule. Doctors reevaluated him after he felt severe pain in a recent workout. The preliminary examination revealed more damage and is worse than the first injury. Anonymous sources in Detroit told BNN Emil Wathen would be absent from the roster quite a bit longer than originally diagnosed. He would now have to miss at least one week. This year, Wathen is hitting .293 with 6 home runs. |
