Denver Shut Out, 4-0, By Captains, Heath
Tuesday, September 9th , 1975
The Denver Burros manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the San Diego Captains. The Burros were overpowered by San Diego starter Ray Heath, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Clark Anderson said.

Over 9 innings, Heath blanked Denver on 1 hit with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Heath said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

On the year, Heath has worked 218.2 innings with 146 strikeouts en route to a 17-7 record and 2.92 ERA.
