Emeralds Wells Named ABL's #1 Player Monday, September 20th , 1971 Steve Wells is respected by most Seattle Emeralds fans for his no-frills style of play. The 26-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the American Baseball League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .450 average (9-for-20) with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored. For the season, Wells is hitting .292, batted in 73 runs with 21 home runs and 69 runs scored. |
