No Late-Season Magic Coming: New York Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 27th , 1975 Timothy Widholm, manager for the New York Knickerbockers said it's a "dark day" for his club. The reason? The Knickerbockers were officially eliminated from playoff contention earlier today. New York last appeared in the postseason in 1973. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 66 times in their 100-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Knickerbockers have missed the playoffs 6 times. New York last won the World Series in 1955. |
