Houston's Lockhart Bags ABL Top Batter for August Sunday, September 1st , 1974 Mike Lockhart, the Houston left fielder, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .340 batting average with 35 hits, 3 home runs, 20 RBIs and scored 19 times. That kind of hitting earned him the American Baseball League Batter of the Month honors for August. Lockhart is hitting .277 so far this season with 70 RBIs and 83 runs scored. He has 134 hits including 10 home runs, 64 walks and .360 OBP. |
