Premier Rookie Named by NBL Sunday, September 1st , 1974 Larry Beckman earned August's Rookie of the Month honors in the National Baseball League for last month's performance. The boyish Cincinnati second baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Beckman hit .257 with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. Thus far this year, Beckman has hit .232 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs. |
