St. Louis Season Won't Continue in Playoffs Monday, September 11th , 1972 The St. Louis Explorers have spent much of the season on the outside looking in at the playoff race. They will be permanently on the outside now, after being officially eliminated from contention today. St. Louis last appeared in the postseason in 1968. This is their 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 74 times in their 91-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Explorers have made the playoffs 2 times. St. Louis last won the World Series in 1938. |
