No Late-Season Magic Coming: Dallas Out of Playoffs Wednesday, September 20th , 1972 They put up a valiant effort, but the Dallas Wranglers didn't have what it takes to make the Major League Baseball playoffs in 1972. The club was officially eliminated from postseason qualification today. "Sucks," said Wranglers starting pitcher Barry Gilmore. Before this season, the Wranglers last missed the playoffs in 1970. In the 94 years they have been a Major League Baseball franchise, they have missed the playoffs 83 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Wranglers have made the playoffs 5 times. Dallas last won the World Series in 1968. |
