American Baseball League Eastern Division Won: Wolverines on Top Thursday, September 21st , 1972 The Detroit Wolverines are the class of the American Baseball League Eastern Division. With their record sitting at 91-67, the club officially captured the division title today for the 13th time. "Every guy in the room has worked towards this goal all year long," said manager Alex Wobbema. "I'm proud to call this my team." The club will now go in search of their 3rd Major League Baseball championship. "It's not going to be easy, but winning the World Series is our ultimate goal," said third baseman Duane Simmons. |
