Behind Langham, Denver Blanks San Diego, 1-0
Wednesday, September 11th , 1974
In a seemingly effortless performance, Bob Langham of the Denver Burros shot down the San Diego Captains, 1-0, on 2 hits.
"Bob was just locating so well and using his pitches," Denver manager Clark Anderson said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Langham recorded 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," San Diego manager Joe Mack said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
Langham has made 30 starts this season, posting 12 wins and 11 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .260 against him and he has 96 strikeouts in 213 innings with a 3.68 ERA.
