Denver Captures National Baseball League Western Division Crown
Friday, September 22nd , 1972
The Denver Burros are champions of the National Baseball League Western Division, but don't plan the parade quite yet.
"It's a nice accomplishment, but we haven't done anything until we win the World Series," said right fielder Guillaume Moret. "We're going to celebrate this for sure, but the real celebration is still to come for fans in Denver."
The club's record currently sits at 99-60. It is the team's 3rd division title and they will be seeking the franchise's 1st Major League Baseball championship.
Team manager Clark Anderson said he plans to take some time to celebrate the division title, but then it's "back to work" for members of the team and coaching staff.
