Burros Advance to League Championship Series
Tuesday, October 3rd , 1972
The Denver Burros have beaten the New York Knickerbockers and will advance to the League Championship Series.
Denver won the final game by a 9-6 count to take the series 4-2. The Burros triumph was no doubt in large part because of the performance of first baseman John Crabtree, who was named MVP of the series.
"The only thing that matters is that we're off to the next round and one step closer to a World Series," he said.
The Denver Burros will play against the San Diego Captains in the next round. San Diego won their series against the Pittsburgh Industrials 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
