American Baseball League Selects Best Performer
Monday, September 23rd , 1974
Montreal fans have something to crow about today as Montreal third baseman Ed Hudson nabbed the American Baseball League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days.
"I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Hudson.
He posted a .450 average (9-for-20) this past week with 1 home run, 6 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.
In 1974 Hudson has hit at a .296 clip with 164 hits, 21 home runs, 87 RBIs and has scored 81 times.
