Wolverines Crowned Kings of the American Baseball League Eastern Division Sunday, September 29th , 1974 Fists were raised amid loud shouts throughout the Detroit Wolverines clubhouse, as the team celebrated its place atop the American Baseball League Eastern Division. "We've been focused on winning this division all year, so it feels good to celebrate it," said starting pitcher Larry Black. "We deserve the title and we want to bring the 3rd World Series to Detroit." It remains to be seen what will happen in the playoffs, but for now, with their 89-72 record, the Detroit Wolverines are feeling atop the baseball world. |
