American Baseball League Picks #1 Rookie

Los Angeles rookie starter Dan Turner has a new addition to his trophy case after the American Baseball League presented him with the 1972 Rookie of the Year Award today.
In 30 starts he ran up a 14-7 won-lost mark and 2.01 ERA. In 214.2 innings the Pobladores rookie fanned 110 and walked 65.
John Fine of the Los Angeles Pobladores finished second in voting, while Bob Russell of the San Francisco Seagulls finished third.
