San Diego Befuddled by Munoz in 2-0 Loss

Jeff Munoz kept the San Diego Captains hitters from doing much damage at Allegheny Field.
San Diego could only muster 3 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Munoz, who controlled them throughout the game. Pittsburgh won the contest, 2-0. Munoz added 2 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Munoz told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
To date, Munoz has a 19-10 mark in 33 starts with a 2.60 ERA. He has given up 242 hits in 267 innings, struck out 123 and issued 55 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .241 batting average against him.
