Chicago Traders Reliever Fell Through Barn Roof - Out 8 Weeks
Sunday, December 26th , 1971
A do-it-yourself carpentry project went awry for reliever Scottie Kraft, who reportedly crashed through the roof of a barn at his home in New Braunfels, Texas, breaking a rib and sustaining three non-displaced fractures in his vertebrae. The Chicago Traders 23-year-old right--hander is expected to be laid up for close to eight weeks. He is hoping to compete for a spot in a revamped Chicago Traders' bullpen, but the injury may pose a significant setback to those plans.
