Denver's Robinson Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Monday, May 27th , 1968 Even as a kid, Jamie Robinson said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Blockbuster Stadium today, Robinson showed how well he learned that lesson. The 24-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Denver Burros, helping his team knock off the Los Angeles Blockbusters by a score of 9-6. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Jamie Robinson hit a solo-shot off Wayne Guilmette in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Wayne Guilmette in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
