Day-to-Day Injury Shelves Barroso
Thursday, April 15th , 1976
The topic du jour around San Francisco is whether Jose Barroso of the Seagulls will suit up for today's contest. He was injured yesterday against the Drillers while running the bases. The standout 28-year-old catcher has knee tendinitis and didn't rule out playing, but did say that if pain persisted, he would not risk further injury.
"Jose will play if he can," said the team doctor. "He hasn't got a major injury, but at the same time, we need to monitor the situation and protect him as much as possible."
This season, Barroso has posted a batting average of .231 with 6 hits in 26 at-bats, no home runs and 0 RBIs. He has also scored 3 runs, walked 1 times and compiled a .259 OBP.
