Black, Witty Receive 8-Game Suspensions

New York and Seattle have been advised by the league commissioner that the Empires Willie Black and the Emeralds Pete Witty have been suspended 8 games each for instigating the brawl at yesterday's game at Queens Field.

For the year Black is hitting .245 with 5 home runs. His stats include 33 runs batted in and 29 runs scored.

Thus far this season Witty has compiled a 3-4 record, made 30 relief appearances with 2 saves, hurling 40.2 innings and striking out 25. He has held the opposition to a .272 batting average with a 3.10 ERA.
