Rubner Week's Top Player Monday, August 27th , 1962 One of the league's most exciting young players, Dick Rubner of the Memphis Blues earned himself Southern Baseball League Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 25-year-old right fielder had a lofty .478 average (11-for-23), collecting 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Thus far this year Rubner has hit .345 with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs. |
