Placeholder Hot, Defenders Cold Wednesday, June 20th , 1962 The San Antonio Defenders struggled at the plate today against Diablos hurler Double A Placeholder, who shackled them on 1 hit while hurling a complete game 2-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Defenders skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Placeholder finished the game with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," El Paso manager said. "Double A made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively." This season Placeholder has compiled a 2-4 mark with a 3.97 ERA. |
