LSL's #1 Batter Chosen Wednesday, August 1st , 1962 When Mike Cook stepped up to the plate in July he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Lone Star Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The young Austin center fielder posted a .282 batting average with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 20 runs. Cook also worked pitchers for 13 walks to post a .362 on-base percentage.
