San Antonio Starter Selected Best Pitcher Wednesday, August 1st , 1962 In July San Antonio starter Ramon Juarez confused hitters all month long. Last month's Lone Star Baseball League Pitcher of the Month took home the trophy as he collected a 6-0 record in 6 starts. The 20-year-old Juarez added 53 strikeouts in 53 innings and 18 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.02 ERA. Other clubs hit .172 against him. So far this season, Juarez has logged a 12-5 record with a 2.46 ERA. He has started 21 games, hurled 172 innings and registered 159 strikeouts and 94 walks. |
