Webb Whitewashes El Paso, 1-0 Wednesday, August 1st , 1962 Gary Webb of the San Antonio Defenders overwhelmed the El Paso Diablos and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them 1-0 on 1 hit with a total of 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. "Gary was on quite a roll," San Antonio manager said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters." So far this season Webb has a 7-8 record with a 3.05 ERA. |
