Lone Star Baseball League's Best Batter Announced Monday, August 13th , 1962 A hot-hitting week got Clyde Barry the Lone Star Baseball League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The Tulsa catcher slammed them for a .417 average, 10 hits in 24 at-bats, no home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. In the postgame press conference, Barry shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that."
