Volunteers Suffer 9-0 Drubbing from Peaches Friday, July 13th , 1962 Jerry Wilson blitzed the Nashville Volunteers at Macon GA minor league park today, pitching the Macon Peaches to victory, 9-0. Wilson needed 9 innings to shut out the Volunteers, striking out 6. "I knew he had it in him, but it's still nice to see him put it all together," said Macon manager . Wilson surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks in the outing. To date this season, Wilson has registered 17 starts, 9-5 won-lost mark, 2.18 ERA, 140.2 IP, 103 strikeouts and 49 walks. Opposing teams have hit .205 against him. |
