Winston-Salem Comes up Empty Against Placeholder
Tuesday, August 7th , 1962
Greensboro's Single A Placeholder brought his best stuff to Winston-Salem NC minor league park today, shutting down and shutting out the Winston-Salem Twins 3-0. He racked up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 4 hits and issued 3 walks on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," Winston-Salem manager said later. "Greensboro could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
In 13 starts this season Placeholder has compiled a 3-9 record and a 6.37 ERA.
